Emma Wilson went 2-3, helping the North Paulding Wolfpack JV to a 6-2 victory over the Hillgrove Lady Hawks on Saturday at Adams Park Field #2. She singled in the second and fourth innings.
Jill Dixon got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed one run over three innings. She struck out four, walked one and surrendered two hits.
Erin Ivey was charged with the loss. She lasted three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
North Paulding Wolfpack JV closer Haley Folds put away the final nine outs to record the save.
The top of the first saw the Hillgrove Lady Hawks take an early lead, 1-0. A single by Gracie Smith, scoring Grace Walker, started the inning off.
The North Paulding Wolfpack JV never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring four runs on a groundout by E.J. Edusei and a two-run single by Nikki Smith.
The North Paulding Wolfpack JV got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, the North Paulding Wolfpack JV scored on an RBI double by Maddy Holloway, bringing home Ashlee Bell.
After pushing across one run in the top of the fourth, the Hillgrove Lady Hawks faced just a 5-2 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Madalyn Otts triggered the Hillgrove Lady Hawks’ comeback. Finally, Haley Folds induced an inning-ending from Sam Scott.
It didn’t take long for the North Paulding Wolfpack JV to respond as they scored one run of their own in the fourth. The North Paulding Wolfpack JV scored on an RBI single by Courtney Schneider.
