Alyssa Brumelow had four RBIs, sparking the North Paulding Wolfpack Varsity to a 9-5 victory in seven innings over East Paulding on Wednesday. She homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.
Caeley Anderson put together a nice outing. Anderson held East Paulding hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Shay Sullins recorded the win for the North Paulding Wolfpack Varsity although she allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings. Sullins struck out six, walked five and gave up eight hits.
The bottom of the first saw East Paulding take an early lead, 1-0. #3 kicked things off for East Paulding with a single. A groundout by #8 then moved #3 from first to second. #7 singled, bringing home #3.
The North Paulding Wolfpack Varsity never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring four runs on two three-run blasts.
The Wolfpack increased its lead with five runs in the sixth. A single by Brumelow ignited the offense, plating GB Day. That was followed up by Tiffany Watson’s double, plating Bailey Noonan and Riley Russell.
East Paulding scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to four. A two-run double by #7 and an RBI single by #24 set off East Paulding rally. The North Paulding Wolfpack Varsity stopped the rally after Anderson got #10 to strike out.
