North Paulding JV beats North Cobb Lady Warriors 8-7 thanks to a RBI single by Emma Mobley
A single, bringing home Olivia Hicks gave North Paulding JV the lead in the eighth inning, and the Wolfpack hung on to beat North Cobb Lady Warriors 8-7 on Tuesday.
Baliegh Tibbitts did her best to jumpstart the offense for North Paulding, reaching base three times. She scored two runs and had one RBI. She singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.
Mobley got the win for the Wolfpack despite allowing six runs over eight innings. Mobley struck out five, walked none and gave up eight hits.
J McCalister took the loss for North Cobb Lady Warriors. She allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out one.
The top of the second saw North Paulding take an early lead, 3-0. Haylee Folds started the rally for North Paulding with a single. Hicks doubled, scoring Sara Carver and Folds. The Wolfpack pushed more runs across when scored on a single by Courtney Schneider.
One of North Paulding’s base runners came all the way around to score in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh. In the fifth, the Wolfpack scored on an RBI single by Harlie Richardson, scoring Tibbitts.
North Cobb Lady Warriors survived the North Paulding Wolfpack JV’s surge and put up one run of its own in the fifth. North Cobb Lady Warriors scored on a ground out by T Wilkinson.
It didn’t take long for North Cobb Lady Warriors to respond as it scored five runs of its own in the seventh. North Cobb Lady Warriors scored on a three-run home run by J McCalister, an RBI single by C Smith, and an error.
The game was never in doubt after the eighth, as the North Paulding Wolfpack JV scored two runs on a ground out by Tibbitts and an RBI single by Mobley.
