Two Pitchers Combine In No-Hitter As North Paulding Wolfpack Jv Defeats Sprayberry
North Paulding Wolfpack JV defeated Sprayberry 20-0 on Friday, as two pitchers teamed up to throw a no-hitter. Brook Walker induced a groundout from Wood to get the last out of the game.
North Paulding Wolfpack JV secured the victory thanks to 15 runs in the second inning. North Paulding’s big inning was driven by a double by Janna Holloway, a walk, a single by Madison Stockton, a walk by Kinsey Dempsey, a walk by Haley Hamby, a walk, a single by Anna Garren (pictured above), a single by Alex McCook, a single by Candice Johnson, a walk by Natalie Haggard, a walk by Kelsey Potter, and a walk by Hamby.
Potter earned the win for North. She pitched one inning, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, and striking out one. Vanbelk took the loss for Sprayberry.
North Paulding had 11 hits in the game. Garren, McCook, and Johnson each collected multiple hits for North Paulding Wolfpack JV. Garren led the Wolfpack with three hits in three at bats. North Paulding stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Madison Morlett led the way with three. North didn’t commit a single error in the field. Garren had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
North Paulding Wolfpack JV Loses Lead Early In Defeat
North Paulding Wolfpack JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-0 loss to Gordon Lee on Saturday. Gordon Lee took the lead on a double in the first inning.
Gordon Lee took an early lead in the first inning. Farrow drove in two when she doubled in the first inning.
Gordon Lee scored four runs in the second inning. Gordon Lee’s big inning was driven by a single by Thompson and a double by Mirghin.
One bright spot for North Paulding Wolfpack JV was a single by Haley Hamby in the fourth inning.
Mirghin earned the win for Gordon Lee. She tossed four innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, striking out nine, and walking zero. Natalie Haggard took the loss for North Paulding. She threw, allowing one run, and zero hits.
Hamby led North with one hit in two at bats.
Farrow went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Gordon Lee in hits. Gordon Lee was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Bradley made the most plays with nine.
