North Paulding Wolfpack Varsity Drops Game To Etowah After Late Score
North Paulding Wolfpack stayed in it until the end, but Etowah pulled away late in a 5-1 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Etowah batting in the bottom of the sixth when A Smith homered off of Jill Dixon, driving in one run.
In the top of the fifth inning, North Paulding tied things up at one. Meadow Villar homered on a 1-1 count in the fifth inning, scoring one run.
K Norton earned the win for Etowah. She threw seven innings, giving up one run, four hits, striking out 12, and walking one. Jill Dixon took the loss for North. She tossed five innings, allowing three runs, three hits, and striking out four.
Home runs for Etowah came when A Smith homered in the sixth inning and A Billings homered in the third inning.
Emma Wilson, Harlie Richardson, Loren Walker, and Villar each managed one hit to lead North Paulding Wolfpack Varsity.
Etowah didn’t commit a single error in the field. E Watson had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.
