Hillgrove Captures Lead Early To Defeat North Paulding Wolfpack

North Paulding fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-5 loss to Hillgrove on Thursday. Hillgrove scored on a groundout by Mo Bastion in the first inning, a single by Laura Harris in the second inning, a single by Ryleigh Ackery in the second inning, and a stolen base in the second inning.

North lost despite out-hitting Hillgrove 13 to eight.

Hillgrove took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Laura Harris singled off of Emma Wilson, driving in two runs, Ryleigh Ackery singled off of Wilson, driving in one run, and a runner stole home.

The Wolfpack collected 13 hits. Wilson, Jill Dixon, Meadow Villar, and EJ Edusei each collected multiple hits for North. Villar and Dixon each drove in one run to lead North Paulding. Hannah McGill led the Wolfpack with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

Adara Dale went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hillgrove in hits. Hillgrove tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Avery Hulsey led the way with two.
