North Paulding couldn’t keep up with Cherokee and fell 5-2 on Wednesday.
Cherokee scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Cherokee came thanks to a home run by Taylor Cates and a stolen base.
Senior, Jill Dixon went 2-for-3 at the plate as she led the team with two runs batted in. North Paulding didn’t commit a single error in the field. Emma Wilson at first base, had the most chances in the field with seven.
Cherokee collected eight hits. Natalie Norton and Hope Jiles each collected multiple hits for Cherokee. Cherokee was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Gracie Mixson had the most chances in the field with nine.
